Duet Night Abyss Progression Guide – Unlocks, Squads

Duet Night Abyss replaces chance-based gacha with deterministic progression. From the opening chapters, seven characters join the roster through story completion. Each unit’s role, such as Support or Healing, appears in the info pane. Everything—characters, weapons, upgrades—unlocks through play and farming, not random pulls.

Building Your First Squads

A squad consists of three units: one main fighter and two active teammates. Early compositions generally pair a heavy attacker, a sustain or utility unit, and a passive damage or buff provider. The protagonist offers flexible support passives, including a teamwide weapon damage increase. Co-op reduces teammate count, making coordination more important for shared debuffs or damage ticks. Role tags are visible in the unit menu, helping players identify synergy.

Unlocks Without Luck

Secret Letter Clues are the core unlock currency. Collecting ten Clues crafts a Secret Letter, which spins into a Covert Commission. These commissions award shards (Thoughts) for characters or blueprints for weapons and Demon Wedges. Thirty Thoughts unlock a character or upgrade their Intron. Weapon and Demon Wedge blueprints are forged at the crafting station, and duplicates enhance them. Premium currency can speed up unlocks but is never required; Demon Wedges remain farm-only to keep progression equal.
