      Valorant Team Deathmatch Is Here – Permanent Mode

      Riot Games is introducing a permanent Team Deathmatch mode to Valorant with the 7.0 update on June 27, marking a dramatic shift from the tactical shooter’s round-based foundation. This new mode strips away the economy phase and round timers, replacing them with continuous respawns and automatic loadout progression. Players will respawn every 1.5 seconds, and matches are a 5v5 race to 100 kills across three new maps designed specifically for the mode.

      Fast-Paced Team Deathmatch

      Team Deathmatch removes the purchasing phase entirely. Instead, each player’s weapon loadout upgrades automatically through four stages: the match begins with pistols and escalates through intermediate firearms until the final stage equips everyone with the Vandal or Phantom assault rifles. Unlike standard Valorant modes, agent abilities recharge over time instead of requiring purchases. Additionally, powerful weapons spawn periodically on the map with limited ammunition, giving players temporary access to gear not available in their current stage.

      The mode’s lore is introduced through a trailer that adopts a time-loop theme, borrowing the tagline “Live. Die. Repeat” from the film Edge of Tomorrow. The trailer features agents Phoenix and Gekko, framing the endless respawns as part of an in-universe training simulation.
