Most-Played PS5, Xbox, Steam Games – Week of Aug 10

Circana video game industry advisor Mat Piscatella has released the weekly most-played rankings by player engagement for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) for the week ending August 10, 2024. Compared to the prior week, the lists saw only minor position shifts, with one notable new entry breaking into the top ten.

Console Highlights

On PlayStation 5, Apex Legends made the biggest move, jumping from 15th to 10th following the launch of Season 22 on August 6. It was the only new top-ten entrant across all platforms. EA Sports College Football 25 held steady at #3 on PS5 and slipped one spot to #6 on Xbox Series X|S. The First Descendant also remained on both console lists, moving from 8th to 9th on PS5 and holding at #10 on Xbox. The rest of the console top tens only shuffled slightly compared to the previous week.

Steam Rankings

On Steam, Counter-Strike 2 remained at #1. Helldivers 2 climbed from 4th to 2nd, pushing Elden Ring down from 2nd to 3rd. Once Human dropped from 3rd to 5th, while Baldur’s Gate 3 rose from 9th to 6th. These shifts reflect continued engagement with established multiplayer titles and enduring single-player hits.

Upcoming Releases to Watch

The rankings could see significant changes in the coming weeks due to several major releases. Black Myth: Wukong and Star Wars Outlaws are both scheduled for August 20, while Astro Bot launches on September 6. Each of these titles has the potential to debut in the top ten most-played lists across consoles and PC.
