Elden Ring: Nightreign – Co-op PvE Stress Test
I’ve spent four hours with the Elden Ring: Nightreign stress test, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. This isn’t a battle royale, but it borrows the best parts of that genre—the shrinking circle, the desperate loot-grab, the final showdown—and wraps them in pure cooperative PvE. No PvP here, just three Tarnished dropped into Limveld (not Limgrave) with nothing, racing against the clock to power up and survive five brutal phases. It’s frantic, it’s punishing, and I absolutely loved every failed run.
The Basics: Drop, Pick a Class, Survive
Each match begins in a Roundtable Hold, where you and two others (friends via password or randoms) choose from four test classes. Eight will be available at launch, but for now we have: Wylder (all-rounder with a blast attack), Duchess (glass-cannon who can repeat the last 1.5 seconds of damage dealt—great for doubling up on big hits), Guardian (tank who creates a revive shield), and Recluse (magic user who curses enemies to give HP/FP to allies). I gravitated toward the Duchess; her swift dodges and ability to amplify team damage made every fight feel like a high-wire act. The Recluse hits hard but burns through FP fast, and with no FP flasks in Nightreign, she’s a challenge to master.
