While the overall reception to the update has been relatively positive among the player base, a persistent problem has grown more noticeable: a rise in players quitting competitive matches mid-game. This trend undermines the team-based nature of the game, as a missing teammate—especially a healer or tank—can make a match virtually unwinnable.

NetEase currently discourages quitting through temporary bans for repeat offenders and allows reporting players who intentionally throw matches. However, many feel these measures are insufficient. Compounding the issue is a recent tweak in Season 2 to how points are gained and lost based on individual performance. The exact calculation method remains unknown, but multiple player reports suggest the system may be unfairly lenient on quitters.

Point Discrepancies Fuel Frustration

A Reddit user, JayAlzier, claimed they lost 23 ranked points after staying through a losing match and contributing kills, while a teammate who abandoned the fight early lost only 20 points. Another user, WackyyWombat, reported losing 22 points in a similar scenario, while the quitter who left after not getting their desired character lost just 19. Several other accounts follow the same pattern: players who remained and fought received larger point deductions than those who abandoned the match.
