Custom Adjustments in CFB: Macros Guide

For years, the pre-snap battle in CFB has been lopsided. Offenses could snap the ball while you were still scrambling through a dozen button presses to set your coverage shell, shade corners, and contain the quarterback. EA’s answer is Custom Adjustments—macros that bundle every pre-snap option and coaching adjustment into a single, named package you can fire in two taps.

      How Macros Work

You build up to 40 macros in the offseason menu (20 offense, 20 defense), then pick 10 per side to bring into each game. Activation is fast: hold the play button or tap L1 at the line, select your macro, and everything executes at once. Defensive shells, safety rotations, QB contain, or offensive hot routes and protection—all fire instantly. Crucially, macros are immune to stadium pulse effects, so crowd noise won’t disrupt your calls when you’re the away team.

      Strategic Impact

Defense now has a fighting chance to match the pace of a prepared offense. You can build a “3rd Long Shell” package that shows blitz, pinches the line, presses DBs, and sets QB contain—all with two button presses. But offense still holds the edge thanks to Formation Shifts paired with macros. The chess match deepens: you bundle route concepts (Slants, Mesh, Outs, etc.) and protection adjustments into one call, eliminating the frantic multi-button scramble. The side that reads the situation faster and built smarter packages wins the rep.

With only 10 offensive and 10 defensive slots per game, plan your loadout like a real game plan. Consider dedicating:

      • Redzone stacks (2–3 slots): Tight windows demand specific protection and route combos.

      • CFB 26 coins
