Free Fire OB51: Nero’s Cryo Mind & Balance Changes
Free Fire’s OB51 update is set to introduce Nero, the game’s 65th character, who features an active skill that requires manual activation. Currently available on the advance server, the update’s official release is scheduled after October 28, with final values subject to change based on player feedback.
Nero’s Cryo Mind Ability
Nero’s active ability, Cryo Mind, deploys a throwable pulse (a plushie-like creature) that has 150 HP and breaks after absorbing that much damage. The pulse remains on the ground for 12 seconds and can be thrown up to 50 meters normally, or 100 meters in Battle Royale mode. When an enemy comes within 8 meters, the pulse automatically detects them, moves toward them, and explodes, creating an 8-meter-radius zone called “Dreamy Space.” Inside this zone, neither the player nor enemies can place Gloo Walls, and enemies take 12 HP damage per second. This makes Cryo Mind especially effective against rushing opponents, as it denies their primary defensive tool while dealing steady damage over time.
Character Balance Changes in OB51
Beyond Nero, the OB51 update brings balance adjustments to three existing characters. Rin’s Kunai throws now have no delay and deal higher damage at shorter range, making her more aggressive in close encounters. Kairos receives a nerf: his extra damage against shields and armor is reduced from 120% to 90%. Ford’s passive HP recovery duration is shortened from 4 seconds to 3 seconds. These changes aim to create a more balanced meta and encourage new strategies. All details are based on the OB51 advance server and may see minor tweaks before the official launch.
